Book Sale

Our annual book sale which had been scheduled for Saturday, October 2nd, is now tentative depending on further lifting of restrictions. We are anticipating more updates from the diocese in September. With that information to come we will better know if we can proceed with our plans. We are also currently accepting small amounts of books depending on how much the garage can hold! In the meantime, please continue to stay tuned for further updates in the coming month.

You will make a difference in your own life and in the lives of those around you. You will nourish your body, mind and spirit. You will make life-long friends and live alongside other young adults in a challenging study program. You will work on our campus and in the community, earn a pay cheque and enhance your resume.

Job Posting: Communications Officer

Job Posting: Communications Officer

If you are an experienced Communications professional seeking part-time work in a challenging, happy and rewarding environment, with competitive remuneration, this may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for!

Christ Church (Anglican) Cathedral in Victoria, BC is currently looking for its next Communications Officer. This “Cathedral for the City” is notable not only for its busy parish life, but for its constructive engagement with the arts, especially music, tourism, reconciliation, social justice, and intelligent faith. Housed in a remarkable heritage building, the cathedral normally welcomes thousands of visitors each year.

The Communications Officer promotes awareness of the mission and activities of the Cathedral both internally within the parish and diocese, and externally to the wider community. He or she seeks proactive opportunities to enhance the Cathedral’s profile through conventional and digital media, and serves as strategic communications counsel to the Dean, as a member of the leadership team. COVID has challenged the Cathedral to embrace technology and videography, in addition to social media and more traditional platforms for communication.

This is a 0.6 full-time equivalent position (22.5 hours per week), with an annual salary of up to $42,000, depending on experience. The incumbent also participates in a generous employment package, including a defined-benefits pension plan.
