Remembrance IlluminatedTuesday, November 9, 2021 Christ Church Cathedral and the Canadian Scottish Regimental Museum are marking Remembrance Week 2021 with a repeating 8-minute slide show projected onto the south tower of the Cathedral over a two-hour period between 7:00 and 9:00 pm on the evenings of the 9, 10 and 11 November 2021. The slide show features art and photographs from the First World War through to the Afghanistan conflict primarily from the collection of the Canadian War Museum and Canadian Scottish Regimental Museum. Remembrance Illuminated recognizes and honours the sacrifice of those who serve, their families and loved ones and those who are impacted by armed conflicts. While we are averse to war and pray for peace, we recognize there are times when our government sends Canadians to assist others in times of conflict and humanitarian need. Their efforts inspire us by illustrating how we can mobilize and work together to deal with important issues impacting our communities today. NOTE: unlike previous years, there will be no seating provided on the cathedral commons (south lawn). Viewers are welcome to bring their own chairs or stand during the slide show. When viewing from inside or outside the commons fence please practice social distancing and other COVID-19 safety protocols.
