Parish Office Hours
Since Rev. Ingrid's arrival and, as things have been picking up due to the easing of restrictions, the parish office is becoming a busy hub once again. It's a wonderful and familiar sign of normalcy - and it is so welcomed! In the midst of the busyness however, we have found that to keep things running smoothly, Rev. Ingrid and Caroline need the opportunity each week to sit down together and discuss all the happenings for the week ahead. So, going forward, Rev. Ingrid and Caroline will have a standing meeting on Mondays between 9:30 and 10:30 am. Calls during this time will go to voicemail. We encourage parishioners who need to visit the office to please come in before or after the meeting time. Your understanding and patience is much appreciated! |

Easter Saturday Holy Post-COVID DeclutterSaturday, April 16th, 9 am - noon As a preparation for Easter, on Saturday, April 16th between 9 am and noon, we are holding an informal post-COVID declutter of the Narthex and Sanctuary space. We are inviting anyone who wishes to help to please come and join us. The more that show up means the faster we are done! Our hope is to do an efficient tidy up, and clear away cluttered areas that became (understandably) neglected during the pandemic. We appreciate your help! |

Ladies Guild Soup Project
The Ladies Guild will soon be busy preparing for the monthly community lunches which are expected to resume in May. Oh, how we can hardly wait to enjoy their tasty soups and sandwiches again!! But to make those delicious soups, they are in need of ham, turkey, and chicken carcasses. So, we're kindly asking parishioners to spare (if they can) their carcasses and offer them to the Ladies Guild. You may bring them to the church anytime to be stored in the kitchen freezer. We would be most grateful! |

How to help refugees fleeing to Canada
The news that Canada has begun receiving large numbers of Ukrainian refugees has many of us wondering how best to help. The Refugee Sponsorship Program of the Anglican Diocese of Islands and Inlets (British Columbia) has kept abreast of the situation and has some information to share. At the moment, the Canadian government is offering two ways for families seeking refuge from the war in Ukraine to come to Canada. Some will be sponsored to Canada by relatives. Many will arrive on visas that give them the right to work and study in Canada for up to three years. They will be eligible for some settlement programs such as help finding work, but so far no other benefits such as health care. The diocese’s Refugee Sponsorship Program that many are familiar with, and may have participated in over the years, is in a separate immigration stream from both options above. So, we are limited in what we can do directly. The good news is that the extensive and well-organized Ukrainian community in Canada has mobilized. They are well positioned to coordinate both local and national responses to this refugee crisis, and we encourage individuals and parish groups to lend support to their initiatives. Here are some ways you can do that: For more infomation visit: http://colwoodanglican.ca/news/how-to-help-refugees-fleeing-to-canada

General Synod 2022 postponed to 2023
The national assembly planning committee made a decision in February to postpone the assembly planned for this summer in Calgary, due to the uncertainties and risk associated with Covid-19. The Council of the General Synod subsequently decided to hold General Synod in 2023, followed by a meeting of the General Synod in 2025, as previously anticipated. As a result, committees continue in place for another year, and the planning for the General Synod continues with new timelines. The precise dates for the postponed Assembly will depend on availability of a venue, but will likely be either late June or July. What this means for delegatesDelegates who have already been elected to General Synod remain until the next meeting, with the hope that they will be available for the new dates. More information to follow as it becomes available. For more infomation visit: http://colwoodanglican.ca/news/general-synod-2022-postponed-to-2023
