New Church of the Advent Nametags Available!
Church of the Advent is in a Spring season, ready for new activity and new growth! Research on successfully growing congregations shows that the two main reasons that visitors return to a parish is 1) the preaching, and 2) if visitors feel welcome. We are, indeed, blessed to be a welcoming parish. One way to show our welcome is to wear name tags, so that newcomers can address us by name and learn our names easily. Rev. Ingrid likes parishioners to wear name tags, so that she can address them by name at communion. Please consider ordering a name tag. If cost is a concern, please speak to Rev Ingrid privately. Our thanks to Mike, who has taken on this project. These nametags are made of a light brass, laser engraved with a magnetic backing so that it will not damage your Sunday finery. The cost is $14.25 with the magnetic back. In order to get this pricing, I have to order in lots of 12 or more. If you are interested, or would like more information, please see Mike Armstrong after church or email me at spike39@shaw.ca and put Nametag in the subject line |

Cathedral marks the Feast of the Ascension with two midweek services
Forty days after Easter, Christians celebrate Christ’s bodily ascension into heaven. According to Acts 1, Jesus tells the disciples “to remain in Jerusalem and await the coming of the Holy Spirit;” he is then taken up from the disciples in their sight, a cloud hides him from view, and two men in white appear to tell them that he will return in the same way they have seen him go into heaven.
