Camp Spirit & Camp Pringle
Hello friends of Messy Church and Gordon United Church: We’re going to be hosting a day camp the first week in August, right after the holiday – for 4 days from Tuesday the 2nd through Friday 5th, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Campers are welcome from age 5 to 11 , with a “Leaders in Training Program” for the older kids age 12-14 – still lots of fun but you get some leadership skills too! Bursaries are available up to 100% off the registration fee. Information and registration is available at www.CampSpirit.ca. I’m the Site Coordinator so I’ll be around all week to spend time with the children as well. If you don’t have access online we have paper registration available through our church office. I’ll have flyers and posters shortly. Camp Pringle, the local United Church “sleep away” camp, is at Shawnigan Lake, and offers programs throughout the summer (day programs and overnight). I have attended Family Camp and been a camp chaplain there and I can definitely recommend the experience (though I don’t recommend playing Capture the Flag in your late 40s – my body hurt for a week!) Bursaries are available. If you wish to attend but are having trouble with finances, please contact me and I’ll find you some help! www.camppringle.com Gordon United Church supports both these programs through donations, volunteers and prayer. Both camps share our inclusive values and welcome everyone, regardless of age, economic status, race, culture, orientation, etc. -The Reverend Heidi Koschzeck |
